Treatment Philosophy
My approach to therapy is very client-centered, client-focused, and trauma-informed. I strongly believe that the client is the person who knows their situation the best. As such, my role as a therapist is to be in conversation with the client about what they need, what they are feeling, what the root of the problem is, and what approach will be the most helpful for them in their situation. I have experience using Cognitive Behavioral Therapy, Dialectical Behavioral Therapy, Internal Family Systems, and Expressive Arts Therapy for my work. In all of these I have found the most important piece of therapy is the relationship with the client. As such, I make sure to take time to build a trusting, compassionate, and safe environment for clients to be able to share and work toward healing.
Biography
I am a mental health therapist who recently graduated with a Masters in Social Work from the University of Georgia. I have a particular clinical interest in supporting clients as they navigate questions of faith, identity, and belonging, including where those areas intersect with sexuality and gender. In my free time I enjoy reading, sewing, and playing tabletop roleplaying games! Colleagues and clients often describe me as warm, thoughtful, and creative, with a calming presence that puts people at ease.
