Treatment Philosophy

I’m a post-doctoral fellow at Powers Ferry Psychological Associates with extensive experience providing therapy and psychological assessment for neurodiverse individuals and their families, trauma survivors, people managing anxiety, and members of the LGBTQIA+ community.

My work is grounded in the belief that the therapeutic relationship itself can be a powerful tool for change. I strive to create a trauma-informed, LGBTQIA+ affirming, and neurodiversity-affirming space where clients feel respected, understood, and safe to explore.

Therapy with me is collaborative and goal-oriented. Together, we’ll find the approach that best supports your needs. While I draw from several evidence-based models, my work most often integrates Cognitive Behavioral Therapy (CBT), Trauma-Focused CBT (TF-CBT), Dialectical Behavioral Therapy (DBT) skills, and Play Therapy.

Assessment Approach

I provide comprehensive psychological assessments for children and adults who may be experiencing Autism, ADHD, or learning differences. My goal is to help clients and families gain clarity about strengths, challenges, and next steps for support.

Whenever possible, I take a team-based approach—consulting with other providers, educators, and family members (as appropriate) to ensure that each client receives a holistic understanding and practical recommendations. I’m knowledgeable about special-education and disability rights and regularly assist clients in obtaining services and accommodations through IEPs, 504 Plans, and workplace supports.

Areas of Focus

Trauma:
I specialize in working with both children and adults who have experienced trauma, including child abuse or neglect, domestic violence, racism, homophobia, transphobia, and bullying. My approach is trauma-informed and evidence-based, aimed at helping clients reclaim safety, agency, and self-trust. I also have experience guiding clients through legal processes such as protection orders, forensic interviews or exams, and court-related trauma support.

LGBTQIA+ Community:
As a member of the LGBTQIA+ community, I understand the importance of affirming, identity-aware care. I work with clients who are exploring gender identity or sexuality and those seeking letters or support for gender-affirming care. My goal is to create space where clients feel seen for who they are, while recognizing that not every struggle is about identity itself.

Neurodiversity:
I view neurodiversity as a natural part of human variation—each brain with its own strengths and challenges. My work celebrates that diversity while helping clients develop tools to thrive. For children, I partner closely with caregivers, schools, and multidisciplinary teams. For adults, I offer flexibility in how others (partners, friends, or family) are included in treatment. Therapy is always tailored and adaptive to each client’s needs.
