Treatment Philosophy

I’ve often said that everyone could benefit from spending some time with a psychologist. As human beings attempting to navigate daily life, we are often confronted by challenges that are difficult to overcome on our own. When my car breaks down, I don’t hesitate to take it to a professional. However when it comes to our personal problems, we often find ourselves resistant to asking for help. For those that do make that call, I work diligently to make the treatment experience one in which you feel comfortable and confident in taking that step. I may be the psych professional but you are the expert about your life and how you operate in it. I stress the collaborative relationship whereby we work together as a team. By the end, you will have gained new skills to more effectively manage the challenges that faced you at that first appointment.

I have had the pleasure of working in the mental health field for 20 + years in a wide array of treatment settings. I’ve treated the entire spectrum of ages and presenting problems. Currently, I focus on adult individuals, couples and families. I seek to educate those I treat as well as the community at large about mental health. If our brain and heart aren’t well then we are at risk for other health issues. It is my hope that you will take a moment to ask yourself “why not?” I look forward to meeting you soon…
