Tamara Onley is a Counselor Intern at Powers Ferry Psychological Associates. She is currently attending the University of West Alabama to earn her Masters of Science in Clinical Mental Health Counseling. She obtained her Bachelors of Science degree in Psychology from Georgia State University. Her emphasis is on individual therapy with an interest in anxiety, trauma, depression, stress management, forgiveness, and grief. Her client focus is with teens, young adults, and adults.
Tamara focuses on a personal approach that works best for each client’s personality and presenting issue. Tamara finds it a joy helping others find hope in the midst of their pain and believes that healing happens within the context of relationships. She strives to create a warm, authentic, non-judgmental environment that encourages clients to gain awareness of themselves. She is passionate about meeting people right where they are and believes that all people have it within themselves the capacity for growth, change, and joy.
Tamara understands that many clients come to therapy with personal spiritual beliefs. Tamara has a background in ministerial work and upon request she offers the integration of a Christian faith-based approach into therapy. Tamara works with individuals from any religious/non-religious or cultural background and is happy to discuss the importance of other faith perspectives in your life as well.
Tamara Onley, B.S., is a Counselor Intern operating under the direction and supervision of Licensed Professional Counselor, Kelly Harvey, LPC, CCH. Her services are provided on a sliding fee scale.
Tamara has worked for PFPA as part of the administrative team for nine years and continues as she fulfills her master’s program.
