As a Licensed Professional Counselor, I work collaboratively with clients, finding the next best step for them to take to handle challenges and roadblocks in life. I get great satisfaction watching my clients improve their life through short or long-term therapy.
I help children and adolescents, with parent involvement, reach their academic and social/emotional potential. I advocate for students and help parents navigate IEP’s/504’s/and behavior plans. Other areas of expertise include grief and loss, ADHD, stress, anxiety, self-esteem and relationship issues for children, teens and adults. I teach social skills to those dealing with Aspergers Syndrome. Additionally, I work with marginalized youth and teens who are at high risk for sexual exploitation.
By creating achievable objectives, clients develop effective coping strategies, successfully manage emotions, improve personal relationships and increase feelings of self-worth. I use a variety of techniques within cognitive-behavioral, play, mindfulness and solution-based therapies, with a focus on examining how thoughts impact feelings and behaviors and developing a multitude of productive replacement behaviors. With written consent, I consult with educators and other providers.
I want clients to be educated consumers. If you would like to initiate counseling, I offer a complimentary phone consultation.
