I have experience in providing therapy and conducting academic assessments for young children and adolescents working to improve a variety of behavioral concerns. I have been specifically trained in treating common behavioral concerns that include but are not limited to sleep, feeding, toileting, tantrums, difficult transitions, and emotion regulation with both neurodivergent and neurotypical children. My previous training in Project ImPACT has given me the opportunity to gain extensive experience in parent-mediated intervention to improve functional communication, social skills, and play skills with children on the Autism Spectrum. My approach to therapy is to begin with compassion while employing a cognitive behavior therapy (CBT) approach to teach children how their thoughts and emotions affect their behaviors.
I also have extensive experience working in a multidisciplinary feeding program, serving children with feeding difficulties including total food refusal, food selectivity, or eating a limited variety/volume of foods. This experience gives me the unique skill of working with children in the community who may be experiencing mild feeding concerns to help improve their overall relationship with food by working with the child individually and training the parent.
